What is a Linear Stapler?

Linear cutting staplers are used in abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology and pediatric surgery.Typically, staplers are used for excision and transection of organs or tissues.Linear cutting staplers are used in abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology and pediatric surgery.Typically, staplers are used for excision and transection of organs or tissues. This type of linear cutting stapler ranges in size from 55 mm to 100 mm (effective length for stapling and transection). Each size stapler is available in two staple heights for easy stapling of thick and thin tissue. The Linear Cutting Stapler holds two staggered double rows of titanium staples while simultaneously cutting and dividing tissue between the two double rows.Fully squeeze the handle, then move the side knob back and forth to easily operate the stapler. Built-in cams, spacer pins, and a precision closure mechanism work together to facilitate parallel jaw closure and then proper staple formation. The effective length of stapling and transection is determined by the size of the stapler selected.

Use of Medical Stapler and Postoperative Care

There are two types of medical staplers: reusable and disposable. They resemble construction or industrial staplers, designed to insert and close multiple staples at once. The device can be used to seal tissue internally during surgery. They are useful in minimally invasive procedures because they require only a narrow opening and can quickly cut and seal tissue and blood vessels. Skin staplers are used externally to close the skin under high tension, e.g. on the skull or torso of the body.

When to Use a Surgical Stapler?

Surgical staples are often used to close incisions in the abdomen and uterus during C-sections because they allow women to heal faster and reduce scar tissue. In addition, surgeons may also use surgical staplers when removing parts of an organ or cutting open internal organs and tissues. They are also used to connect or rewire internal organs within organ systems. These devices are often used in procedures involving the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and bowel. As some of these tubular structures have been removed, the rest had to be reattached.

Post-operative care of medical staplers

Patients must pay special attention to the medical nails inside the skin to avoid infection.Patients should also always follow their doctor's instructions not to remove any dressings until it is safe to do so, and to rinse twice a day to keep them clean. Your doctor will tell you how and when to dress the wound to prevent infection.

When to Call Your Doctor About Surgical Stapler Complications:

1. When bleeding is sufficient to soak the bandage.

2. When there is brown, green or yellow foul-smelling pus around the incision.

3. When the skin color changes around the incision.

4. Difficulty moving around the incision area.

5. When skin dryness, darkening or other changes appear around the site.

6. Fever over 38°C for more than 4 hours.

7. When new severe pain occurs.

8. When the skin near the incision is cool, pale or tingly.

9. When there is swelling or redness around the incision

Remove Surgical Staples

Surgical needles usually remain in place for one to two weeks, depending on the type of surgery and where the needle was placed. In some cases, it may not be possible to remove the inner staples. When this happens, they are either resorbed or become permanent additions, holding the inner tissues together.Removing the staples from the skin is usually painless. But they can only be removed by a doctor.Patients are advised not to attempt to remove the surgical staples by themselves.Removing staples requires sterile equipment and specialized staple removers or extractors. The device disperses the staples one at a time, allowing the surgeon to gently remove them from the skin.Typically, the doctor will remove every other staple, and if the wound is not fully healed.
